Mix Tape
The San Francisco Chronicle today has a sweetly nostalgic article about the mix tape. I'm lucky enough to have quite a few of these tucked away in a box, and now I want to go and dig them all out. I met some of my favorite bands this way.

I used to be obsessed with making mix tapes. I actually used to make fancy covers for them and everything. For awhile, I did the same with mix CDs but it's just not the same.

I've a box of thousands of mix tapes, and while I wasn't one for covers, I did love making up titles for them.
I also got into the CD mix thing for a while, but now I'm lazily content to make a contribution of one song per week to a podcast....

Melissa, you're a woman after my own heart. I used to create these intricate little collages for the mix tapes I made. I think creating the titles may speak to the same impulse of wanting to symbolize or sum up what you're saying with the music on the tape...
jc, which podcast do you contribute to? How did I miss that??
